Whew!

I can't believe it's been over a month since I blogged. The Holidays were jam packed. There is a lot to talk about, so here it goes.

Heather and I went a bit overboard on the Christmas gifts for Brenna. It was a lot of fun. I realize that you can go into Toys 'R' Us and for $100, walk away with about 6 presents. In contrast to Heatheresque type gifts, which can set a man back $600 and the little box can fit in a coat pocket.

Anyhow, I had to work from 9PM Christmas Eve until 7AM Christmas day. Heather's Mom, Step Dad, brother Eddie, and sister Maureen came over for Christmas Eve Dinner. They spent the night. Dinner was great. I hung out with everybody until 8:30 and then headed off to work.

Christmas morning, I got home at 6:45AM. Everybody was asleep but not for long. Brenna had about 50 gifts to open. By the end of Christmas morning she was a gift opening machine. After gift opening, I went to bed.

I took a nap from 11AM to 3PM. I got up and we loaded up the car and headed my parents for Christmas dinner. My Uncle Bill and Camille were already there. My dad didn't wait for us to eat. The food was a little cold when we got there, but my mom's cold turkey beats most people's turkey any day. Then Brenna had more presents to open. We crashed at my mom's that night.

The next day, we had Bill, Andrea, Valerie, as well as my best bud Jamie and his wife Berna coming over to our place in Lancaster. This is an annual tradition of drinking and gift giving. Jamie and B always make a point of visiting us. They have lived all over the country the past 10 years, most recently they are in L.A. So, it's always a great time that involves mucho cerveza. Brenna had another evening of gift opening. Everybody crashed in our townhouse. Hopefully next year we'll have a house here in Lancaster and everybody will have a bed.

New Year's we had a quiet night just the three of us. I had to work at 6AM on New Year's Day. Heather is due with (what we're told will be) our next daughter on January 19th. My scheduler tried to schedule all my shifts in the beginning of the month. I have worked 8 shifts in the first 11 days. I have a full week off around Heather's due date. Brenna is excited for her sister. She actually picked her named out of several choices we gave her. That information at this point, remains confidential;)
